The New Jersey Open Public Records Act, P.L. 2001, c. 404, commonly abbreviated OPRA, is the statute guaranteeing and providing process for freedom of information with respect to public records in the State of New Jersey. It states that "government records shall be readily accessible for inspection, copying, or examination by the citizens of this State, with certain exceptions, for the protection of the public interest."〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.state.nj.us/grc/act.html )〕 ==Law== OPRA has multiple features to it: 〔http://www.nj.gov/lps/opra/〕 # A request for public information must be completed, signed, and given to the keeper of the record that is requested.
